His transportation career began in 1989, first as a local company driver and then OTR. He later became a sole proprietor owner operator with one truck and then a transportation manager and owner of a company with a fleet of 7 trucks operating in 6 states. In 2006 Ed opened a fleet maintenance company with customers including Conway Freight, ABF, and Yellow Freight. He has pulled everything from dry boxes to reefers, tankers to flatbeds and doubles, and has hauled anything from potato chips to hazmat.
After selling his businesses, Ed and his wife moved to Elizabethtown, PA where in August of 2009 he joined Lazer Spot as a Lead Driver and was promoted a year later to Assistant Area Manager where he was groomed for promotion by Butch Klinger and David Mumbauer.
Ed’s vast experience in transportation both as a driver, owner, and in fleet maintenance, makes him a great fit for the position and a welcome addition to the Safety Team.
Ed’s first project assignment will be managing the 2011 Site Safety Audit Program.
